VI. Additional signs

21.    Additional signs are placed together with the other signs in order to make their meaning clear:

6.1.а,б,в,г “Distance up to the object”:

6.1.а - indicates the distance from the sign up to the dangerous sections and sections with traffic limitations or objects along the road;

6.1.б - indicates the distance from sign 3.4 up to an intersection if sign 3.5 is placed immediately before the intersections on the roads outside of built-up areas;

6.1.в,г - indicate the distance up to objects located apart from the road.

6.2.а,б,в,г,д,е “Zonal validity” - sign 6.2.а indicates the length of dangerous sections warned with signs 1.9-1.14, 1.18 and 1.20-1.27 and the zonal validity of signs 2.16, 2.20, 2.22, 2.24, 2.26, 5.15 and 5.18;

Signs 6.2.б,в,г,д,е indicate the zonal validity of signs 2.27 and 2.28.

6.3.а,б,в “Direction validity” - indicate the direction validity of the signs placed before the intersections and exits;

6.4.а,б,в,г,д,е,ж “Vehicle type” - indicate the types of vehicles which the signs shall apply to:

6.4.а - goods vehicles with the permissible maximum mass of more than 3.5 ton;

6.4.б - all types of vehicles with trailers;

6.4.в - passenger cars and goods vehicles with the permissible maximum mass not exceeding 3.5 ton;

6.4.г - motor vehicles used for the carriage of persons and having more than 8 seats in addition to the driver’s seat;

6.4.д - tractors and self-propelled vehicles;

6.4.е - motorcycles;

6.4.ж - cycles and mopeds.

6.5.а,б,в,г,д,е,ж “Time validity” - indicate the time period which the signs shall apply to:

  6.5.а - Saturdays, Sundays or holidays;

  6.5.б - weekdays;

  6.5.в - days of the week;

  6.5.г - time;

  6.5.д,е,ж - day (a day of the week) and time.

6.6.а,б,в,г,д,е,ж,з,и “Methods of stationing vehicles at parking places” - sign 6.6.а indicates that all types of vehicles should be stationed on the carriageway as closer as possible to the sidewalk curbstones at parking places having sign 5.15. Signs 6.6.б-6.6.и indicate that passenger cars and motorcycles should be stationed on the sidewalks bordering with the carriageways or as closer as possible to or with half of their bodies over the sidewalk curbstones at parking places having sign 5.15;

6.7 “Parking with switched-off engine” - indicates that vehicles should be stationed with switched-off engines at parking places having signs 5.15 or 5.44;

6.8 “Pay service” - indicates that the services are paid only in cash;

6.9

6.9 “Permissible parking time” - indicates the maximum permissible parking time limit for vehicles at parking places having sign 5.15;

6.10

6.10 “Motor vehicle checking place” - indicates that parking places having signs 5.15 or 5.44 have checking platforms or pits;

6.11 “Handicapped person” - indicates that parking places having sign 5.15 apply only to vehicles having the identification sign “Handicapped person”;

6.12

6.12 “Priority road direction” - indicates the priority road direction at intersections. Placed together with signs 3.1, 3.4 or 3.5;

6.13

6.13 “Permissible maximum mass limit” - indicates that the sign applies to vehicles having the permissible maximum mass more than that shown on the sign;

6.14 “Lane” - indicates the lane to which the traffic signal and the sign apply;

6.15

6.15 “Blind person” - indicates the pedestrian crossing for blind persons and is placed together with signs 1.17 and 5.16.а,б;

6.16.а,б “Carriageway surface condition” - sign 6.16.а indicates that the sign is valid when the carriageway surface is wet and sign 6.16.б indicates that the sign is valid when the carriageway surface is covered with snow or ice.

 

22.    In order to help drivers to catch up the road condition and situation, other information and additional signs establishing no any limit could be used. Such signs are made in white on a light blue ground.

23.    If there is a temporary sign having a different meaning from the stationary one, the temporary sign should be observed. Temporary sign is should be mounted on portable stands.
