Annex 1 to Rules of the road of Mongolia
ROAD SIGNS AND MARKINGS
I. Warning signs
1. Warning signs are intended to warn the drivers in advance of approaching to the dangerous sections of road and necessity to take the proper measures:

1.28.а,б,в “Turning direction” - warning of sharp turning direction on a section of road with limited visibility. |
2. Signs 1.1, 1.2 and 1.5-1.27 should be placed before the starting point of a section of road with a possible danger to traffic at the distance of 50-100 m on roads in built-up areas and 150-300 m on roads outside built-up areas. When necessary, they could be placed in conjunction with sign 6.1.а at a differing distance thus clarifying with the use of this additional sign the distance up to the point of starting of a dangerous section.
If ascents and descents on a section of road continue in succession, signs 1.10 and 1.11 could be placed immediately before the dangerous section.
In case of carrying temporary works on the carriageway, sign 1.20 could be placed 10-15 m before that section.
3. Signs 1.3.а,б are placed immediately before level-crossings.
4. Signs 1.4.а,б,в are placed on the right-hand side of the carriageway, signs 1.4.г,д,е - on the left-hand side. Signs 1.4.а and 1.4.г are placed below signs 1.1 or 1.2 placed at the longest distance from level-crossings and signs 1.4.в and 1.4.е are placed below signs 1.1 or 1.2 placed at the shortest distance from level-crossings with signs 1.4.б and 1.4.д placed with even interval between the formers.
5. Signs 1.28.а,б,в are placed at dangerous places.
